That was the main reason i was waiting for and contemplating changing my D4 for D5. With all the hype about huge weight loss with the aluminium chassis we were expecting better results....
If it only was a handsome car
LR will have to offer the "dynamic pack", which makes it look much better, for free to boost sales otherwise they'll be in trouble.
28mpg running around the town as opposed to 22mpg with the D4. The 3.0 doesn't have the massive weight loss, that's the 2.0 SD4
Not sure why LR will be in trouble if they don't offer the dynamic pack
Well J77, you have a heavy foot. I do 28mpg around town (computer reading).
That's a bit of humour with a serious point; the D5 is quite expensive already for most and without the dynamic pack it doesn't look as attractive. So it would be a clever move from LR to offer the pack, making it feel better value and better looking!
Sometimes, I do think it will be slightly better on fuel but that wasn't its selling point. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Red Merle wrote:D5 devotees are often understandably extremely sensitive to any form of criticism of their wonderous new MPV of choice and spend a fair amount of time being highly defensive and often calling foul. Consequently, I've backed right off in in giving my own opinion.
Yet, coming onto the D3/4 forum and starting a thread with the title "The D5 is a lot better than the D 3/4" is only likely to antagonise. Why do it? Especially when there's a perfectly good D5 forum where like-minded individuals can all go and agree with one another. I wouldn't dream of going on to the D5 forum and being critical, so how could it be reasonable for a regular D5 poster to come on here and do the opposite?

has anyone actually read my original post ? Its about the off road ability of the D5 in comparison to the D3/4 thats all.
I had a message from someone who attended the UK D5 4x4 night drive at Millbrook saying it was very very very good.
This was the first feed back from someone I trust to give an honest review of how good or bad the D5 is off road.
I must admit I was a little concerned that the D5 would not live up to the D3/4's 4x4 ability, when I got the message saying it was awesome I was chuffed to say the least.
I then posted the good news here saying the D5 IS better than the D3/4.
I am sorry that I have offended you all and I will punish my self for letting my enthusiasm control the keyboard on my PC.
I can ensure that this will not happen again. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
