Search Altox on the forum, and buy the connecting cable from the shop.

How easy are these to fit? is it just a plug in module, or do you need to start cutting into wiring?

I can imagine it is simple.

The aerial receiver needs to be wired into the harness but as I know LR has foreseen the plug in connector.

Search here in the forum for aerial FBH / FBH receiver and you will find plenty of things to read. You will find guidance where to search for the receiver if it is not fitted already.

I am assuming that the remote receiver sends a signal to the FBH to start it. In my previous D3 the FBH was triggered by a simple output signal of the Altox receiver.

On D4 it should be similar. See in the WIKI about the FBH.

but it is a D3

Easy to fit the LR one to a D4 and also the Altox one as the car has the socket ready to accept the unit, you just need to enable it in the CCF

Once this is done it will operate the Park heater or in summer the LR one operates the fans, dont know if the Altox one does this.

I put together the pieces for a lot less than this kit costs though through sourcing on Ebay and a post on here secured the remote (these are tricky to get as there a re a few versions that look right but dont work)

Been using mine a few times to get it ready for this winter and it is bloody marvellous - Saturday night here was quite chilly and my wife was really surprised how warm the car was after the heater was operating for 10 minutes before we went out in it to pick up eldest from the pub at 10pm

I bought the LR parts and fitted myself. Dead easy. Just plugs in. You'll need an IID tool to enable it though. Thumbs Up

If your D4 is pre-facelift, I have a secondhand LR kit surplus to requirements.

On the D4 installation is totally different, there is a loom on the drivers side in the rear near the tool storage, the receiver needs to be plugged in there and communicates differently to the FBH

B*gger... so its going to cost me the remote kit and an IID tool..... that's an expensive option for a toasty D4 over and above using the standard timed climate then.... Rolling Eyes

That particular kit doesn't use the correct D4 receiver, it's using a L322 receiver which is available for a fraction of the price (the part number is obscured by the fob in each photo....)

You could put together the same kit with a L322 receiver, genuine fob and aerial for about £160 I reckon.

If you are looking at the BAS receiver I can't think of a reason it can't be used on a D4.

I priced the bits up at £210 + p&p on LRParts. You might be able to get them cheaper shopping around. That's all genuine parts too.

The IID tool is around £300 but that will last you for the life of the motor and at around £50 per enabling (ish) it would pay for itself in no time at all.

Or you could fit the bits and pay the £50 to someone with an IID Pro (They're no VIN locked) to enable it for you.

Thumbs Up

Could you post the part numbers for said kit to work with a 2014 D4 or supply?
Cheers.
