D4 2012 PAS power steering fluid leak
Hi All,
I've got a leak!
Power Steering failed this morning upon startup.. noticed the fluid had left the reservoir & gone somewhere..
Phoned a local main dealer to book in under the LR assured Used car extended warranty (got 20 months cover still) Turns out they want a non returnable "diagnostic fee" (£130 +vat) which is not covered by warranty.. naturally, I'm not happy with this hidden local dealer tax.
So I had a look myself & I think I've found where the fluid is coming from.. the part (not sure what it is) is covered in fluid & when the engine is running, the part shimmers in the light, indicating the fluid is flowing thinly from it..
I've posted a pic of the suspect, can anyone concur its a likely suspect please?

OK,
Looks like I have found the answer via a couple of other posts..
my steering rack seals have gone on the driver's side.. cheap fix & looks like a DIY job too.
