so my wife is sat in winchester in the D3 and just about to head back here to sunny (for once) cornwall,

she hits the home button on the satnav and it tells her it will take 6 hrs 45 mins, ok. but the route it wanted her to take was all the way up to OXFORD on a34....then back down to m4 and down to exeter.....

no waypoints in at all, just direct to home... Shocked one wife.......livid

sat nav

is there a way cheaply of upgrading my 54 plate sat nav , if poss i would like it to show speed cameras and mine and the road speed . i as others have said find the eta completely outa wack if they dont do it on average speed im not surprised its inaccurate.

Any SATNAV is only as good as the maps are. In my case, they are utterly useless and outdated. The Garmin goes circles around it. The dealer gave me a ridciulous price for an update DVD, so basically it will only be used when off roading.

I have just paid out £117 to get my MY06 DVD upgraded but not tried it yet

in the summer - planned route to take me from Glos to Padstow. Got us to the M5 and then at EVERY junction all the way down kept telling me to come off. Turned off sound as only needed it really once past Exeter. Once off Motorway it seemed OK. Did same on the way back and I had selected M-Way as preferred route.

There are some nice features , the full post code is a blessing. Apart from that it is pretty useless.

Really hoping upgrade works so I can take out the Garmin that is in there . Only thing I will miss is the speed camera which I am told will never be on an in-built system. Oh, and the Points of Interest on the Garmin are much better, and in the US even more benefit - can plug in Starbucks and just takes me to the nearest for brekkie.

In my own car the Merc Command is MUCH better and much more intelligent when trafik is bad and recalculates a redictions without me prompting.

SWMBO likes the voice tho
