My D3 HSE
I bought a pretty high spec D3 from a client of mine a few weeks ago and decided to facelift it, I’m really pleased with how it looks now.....
Just need to colour code the mirror tops and get some side steps to finish it off.

What have you changed on the front, much prefer the front end look of yours? Did you have to change the wings to fit D4 headlights, where did you source the parts from?

I changed the headlights, grille, bumper, wings and arches on the front end.
The old wings would have needed trimming along the front edge to fit the D4 headlights, I think some people do that to keep the costs down a bit.
I like the symmetry of having a vent in both wings now though.
My friend swapped everything over for me and he said it was surprisingly easy to do, once he’d managed to free off/remove all the 13 year old bolts! 😆
I just shopped around for all the parts second hand off here and eBay.

Spent a chunk of today trying to get some annoying jobs done on the D3, had a frustrating time!
Tried to fit some side steps but was instantly defeated by the screws at the rear of the plastic sill trims - they were super rusty and I had zero chance of freeing them off! Gutted!
Decided to jack the back end up, take the wheels off and try and drill them out but that was a disaster! Couldn’t get enough lift with my rubbish jack so gave up. Then when I moved the car it seemed to have developed a suspension issue as it wasn’t lifting as fast as usual and the dash said it was raising slowly! Took the car for a drive and raised and lowered it a few times and it seems to be fine again now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way!
After that I fitted a rear camera that was missing from the D4 boot handle I’d bought previously - just need to wire it up now! Can’t see that happening anytime soon mind.
I then moved onto my wet headlining/footwell issues! I’ve already unblocked the sunroof drain tubes at both ends which helped but the headlining still gets a bit wet at times. Thought it might be worth adding some silicone under the roof rail trims (I read on here that this had worked for someone else) where there is a seam. There was a surprising amount of mud underneath the rails when I removed them but when I cleaned it all it looked as though someone had already repaired the area. The seam was covered in some sort of sealant that had been painted over.
I’m waiting for some new external A pillar trim clips to arrive and hopefully that will cure my wet passenger footwell problem - the trim actually came loose the other day on the motorway and I just clipped it back in place with the existing clips as I didn’t realise they were single use at the time.
I’m desperate to wash the car but want to wait until I fit the new pillar trim clips first, in the hope that will stop the major water ingress into the cabin!
Must say that so far discovery ownership is a real journey of highs and lows for me....
Anyway, here’s a few photos from today;

The new A pillar trim clips that I’d ordered arrived this weekend so I pulled the trims off, cleaned everything up, duct taped the top and bottom holes up and refitted the trims.
I’m hoping this might cure my wet passenger footwell problem! 🤞

Spent more time (and money!) on the D3 this weekend.
Had the EGR’s blanked with a BAS kit I bought a while ago. I was worried it might make it sluggish after reading some threads but it seems slightly more responsive if anything.
Managed to get the side steps on finally, sills weren’t as bad as I feared they might be under the plastic trims - bonus!
Turns out the front brake pads were seriously low so chucked some new pads in. I was planning on upgrading to the RRS Brembo’s but I’ll wait a bit now that the existing pads have been replaced.
It’s going to need tyres soon, these cars really do swallow money don’t they!
Anyway, here’s a few pics;

Check along the top edge of the windscreen for water getting in. If necessary, remove the plastic trim that runs along the top of the screen, run a bead of silicone all the way along, and replace the trim.
New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

Thanks, I’ll give it a go. 👍🏻
It’s a lot better since I sorted the sunroof drain tubes but it still gets slightly damp along the front edge of the headlining sometimes.
At least the new A pillar trim clips fixed the soaking wet footwell!
