Should I be concerned

Just noticed a small water mark under car (turned out to be nothing ) but noticed the chassis vin number looks like someone has given it a clean the chassis has the usual surface rust but I’m sure I’ve never noticed this before, it had its mot in Jan by sane garage I’ve used for 20 years and I’ve never seen him clean the area, if some scrote did this any ideas why

I think MOT regs changed to include checking the chassis number a while ago

Not certain but thought I'd heard our MOT man say

Not my mot man I watch him do mot and it was in January I’m sure it would have rusted up by now if you zoom in the letters look like they’ve been cleaned

I think the vin number is covered by a transparent sticker, yours has come off. Jet washed it recently?

Some scrote checking the chassis number for the parts he needs is in the correct VIN range. Whistle

I’d agree with Gareth, where it is still rusty at the top left is where it started peeling.

If he wanted the VIN number he doesn’t need to get dirty on the floor...he just needs to read the visible vin in the windscreen.... it has delayed rusting due to the original sticker protecting it.....
chillax! Very Happy

Coat it with Dinitrol wax or something similar which will help prevent it disappearing over time.
