Cold start over Dolomites (Italy)
After 2 days in freezing conditions, the FBH won't start using the oval timer, probably due to freezed diesel in to the feeding line (last time the FBH has been used, "normal" diesel fed it up and no more starts occurred after a tank of winter diesel was filled arriving on mountain).
Also tried a fuel priming with iidTool but no way to pre heat the engine with FBH.
FBH takes run again after some minutes of driving and worked perfectly over the next days
Note: battery voltage was 11,8V at time of start (Exide 1000)
As per Robbie guide, glow plugs run 30 secs (key on pos II) before start

Have you checked each of the glow plugs for current draw Sidestick ?, just asking, as the glow plug light operating, does not mean they are actually working, as you may know. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Yes, as per Robbie guide i have checked them all,
just waited 30 secs before cranking to permit glow plugs to run the high and low pre heating.
Probably the time spent to check the FBH operations both with oval timer and iidtool have taken my battery a bit low.
Next year i will force to run the FBH after filling the tank with winter diesel...
In the next days after 30 mins of FBH preheating the start has been pretty fine - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

I think the battery did pretty well to crank for that long at that temperature. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. No, air one. ISTR there was a load of D3/4s & RRSs that were breaking down in low temps and high humidity conditions in the alps as ice formed in the intercooler, starving the engine of air. Peeps were blaming the local fuel but it was only certain cars that were affected.
Just a thought, remember I'm a non-techie so the above may be rubbish.

Thanks DSL,
it could make senses, i'll go in a deep search about this,
also listening at the video seems that engine does not receive fuel or air during first run and again no grey smoke from exhaust could be a symptom of blocked air feeding - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

Exactly how mine started two weeks ago in the alps. minus 10-15 during the day and colder during the nights. Was there for four days and every first start of the day was like this. All glow plugs have been replaced last year btw.
Last day I drove for 20mins and then the car stopped, no warnings on dash, checked with IID and no faults. Had to have it towed in the end.
To get it running again the fuel system needed bleeding and also replaced the fuel filter, had some moisture in it. I had put in cheap french supermarket diesel so that definitely didn't help.
The tow guy told me he had 6-7 cars a day with the cold, all fuel gelling, older Land Rovers were anything but the exception he told me.
