I had the TC upgrade after reading reviews here.
It transforms the car and if you like driving an upgrade is a must.
Comforted to know that LR dealer I bought car from offers "in house" upgrade which is infact TC one at up to twice TC price.
Other major plus is that upgrade is undetectable (my LR dealer couldn't & LR assist couldn't).

Had the Upgrade Done - Twisted Performance
After considdering all the options and reading reviews and more particularly talking to some of the suppliers I finaly took the plunge yesterday.
I made the decision to have the upgrade done by Charley Fawcett at Twisted performance near Thirsk.
I opted for the download upgrade rather than the plug in unit and to compliment this I also had a K&N freeflow air filter fitted - I have not yet assessed the impact of the upgrade on fuel consumption as I am currently involved in heavy right foot work assessing the performance - I now have a constant grin on my face!!
The vehicle has been totally transformed it has both get up and go now and plenty of mid range pulling power. No longer do you feel that you are on a suicide mission when you pull out of a side road into traffic.
I would certainly recomend the upgrade
And I have confidence in Twisted performance as they tend to concentrate on Landrovers. The place is easy to find, and the tea and coffee is excelent. There is also a Shooting ground there - an off road school and a quad bike course - what more could a Disco 3 driver want - apart from hand pulled beer - (The village pub is just around the corner)2006 TDV6 HSE Remapped - Awesome -

Hi
Upgraded our discovery not long after we recieved it and the difference was incredible. Made a good car even better, car had to return to dealers for tyre wear warranty issue and they remapped car with latest patches. Suddenly car felt like a v4 not a v6, we remapped it ourselves and voila the beast was back, only it felt a lot smoother than the previous tune. The patch software compliments the tuned software alot better.
Anybody in our area that would like a demo just contact us.

I would like to know exactly how many "different" MAPS there are. TC, Autologic, JE ....
How many are unique or are they just the same thing that has been rebranded. If they are different what are the advantages of each tune ?
Hi
We use the Autologic upgrade and find it great. We upgrade all our vehicles with this system and numerous customers, and cannot recomend it highly enough.
The discovery 3 is a very good car as most of the members on this site agree, but when you chip them, and drive them, one thing comes to mind, "Now this is pod racing".
If you are thinking of taking the plunge, do it. Denial is not a river in Egypt.

Autologic are the data (hope that's the correct term) etc. providers to Turbochip.
I know this as I went to Autologic to have my D3 T/C re-map after it was wiped out by the L/R software upgrades.

Just to clarify.
Twisted Performance download option is a TurboChip remap. Charlie is a TC dealer.
Autologic supply the tool for programming LR in collaboration, but the maps loaded are TC product.D-Tech are a TurboChipremap dealer.

Could you guys give us some more info about your experience with the upgrade?
How it feels after few years? How about clutch or the gear box ... all ok?
I drive fresh new D4 with 2.7 and when I look at the tuners webpages, the performance gain they list seems to be too good to be true. And there is no free lunch ... so what is the real fee you pay for the upgrade? Engine lifetime?
thx

I just had one re-mapped with a TUV approved file and it feels noticably swifter, particularly in the 20mph to 50mph zone. The MPG has been around 27 on a 25 mile home A/B road journey and a further 20 miles around town (Guildford / hilly ish). This is up a couple on where it normally sits, but not hugely. Very unscientific calculations!
The process involves plugging the car in, reading the ECU (5 mins), emailing the supplier for a file (sandwich lunch while waiting), receiving the file back and reflashing the ECU (5 mins).
You could alternatively get a permanent plug in chip, but I am told these are less effective - don't understand why.
It cost me £150 on mates rates (cost of file), because the godfather of my daughter owns Rhino Tuning / Economy Tuning .co.uk. Not a clue what "proper" rates are, but if you want to chat to someone who knows about these things email [email protected] and blag a discounted rate. I think that would also mean asking him to donate to this site, don't forget.
Things to think about -
Do you tell your insurance company or not? Easier not to without a physical chip
Do you void your warranty? See previous
Does the supplier provide a warranty? Some do, some don't
Does it cause more wear and tear? Most claim not, hence TUV (German transport department) approval being important apparently.
What happens if your ECU is re-flashed by Land Rover as part of a service or recall? - some companies will reflash for free
Hope that provides some food for thought.

Hi There,
New to forum as only got my 2009 TDV6 last week! What is this TC upgrade/remap? A mate of mine runs a Landrover specialist workshop (Croft Vehicle Repairs near Oxford) and he has suggested a remap that will remove the EGR valve issue (blank off the fault codes and remove it from ecu?) and increase performance etc.
Reading previous posts this map does make the car have a good deal more oomph and I wonder is it the same thing!!
