Chasing fault code p0173

Hi all

About a month ago I finally finished repairing my newly purchased d3 v8.
It suffered from valve seat regression. Tbh the job was a lot more hassle than I thought it would be. Anyway that's behind me. The issue is I'm chasing this lean fault code. I have fitted 2 now 02 sensors (fitted gen ones cost a dam fortune) as it was showing all all sorts of codes. This cured a lot of of apart from this one.

Now I can see the short trim is constantly asking for fuel to the point where it throws this code up. I intend to take the injectors out and send them away for cleaning as since I did I shot of injector cleaner in its not been on as much as it was before. I have check fuel rail pressure. This is ok. And I have new plugs. They are the expensive ones for lpg as I intend to run it on that more than petrol. I want to get the car running good on petrol before I run long term on gas.

I've had a look round for a vac leak but not found anything.

Anyone have any ideas.?

I'm ment to be taking this to Poland at xmas so want to get it sorted before then. Otherwise I'm taking the x5 on petrol. And really don't want to do that.

Any help is appreciated

Regards

Dave

Check that the oil filler cap is seated properly- seems that this can be a problem on a V8 and will produce that code

Seems there are endless possibilities, this code relates to "Bank 2" of the V8. Also check these
Defective MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor (especially on Mercedez-Benz and other European autos. There are a lot of problems with aftermarket MAF sensors.) Defective fuel pressure regulator
