changed front height sensors, and now nothing works

Hello all,

I have just got my D3 through its "Control Technique" (equivalent of MOT). Every now and then (every few hours) I get a message regarding the suspension, and that it only normal ride height is operational.

Restart the car, and back to normal for a certain time (sometime hours, sometimes minutes).

the error was C1A11-64.

I have read on here, that it could be the ride height sensors, so today I replaced the front sensors.

When I pluigged battery back in, I tried to recalibrate the ride height with IID, and it failed.

I noticed that even though the height was changing, the value on the IID was not changing.

I thought I had a couple of bad sensors, so I put the old ones back on. Same thing.

I then wondered if I had broken the plugs when I took them off, so I have just replaced the plugs. Sadly, still exactly the same thing.

I have noticed if I unplug the sensor with the IID on, the value DOES change, and when I plug the sensor back in again, the value goes to 176, but never changes.

The errors that IID is showing are:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone point me in the right direction so that I can try to solve this problem without having to take it to the garage.

THanks.

Nick

Thanks, I have now found that also. I ordered them as a kit, and didn't realise that they were not identical.

Mistake coming from a D2 where they were identical.

Changed the sensors from one side to the other, and now everything seems to be ok.

Now have to wait and see if the error about the pressure changing when the system is inactive comes back.

Fingers crossed!!

Thanks for you help. Saved me from worrying!!

that problem is sorted, but the initial problem is still there.

I was on my home from lunch, and got the same error: Suspension fault (Orange light). Normal ride height only.

Here is the error:
Suspension

C1A11-64 (2E) Pressure increases when system inactive - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure

The compressor was replaced by LR two years ago.

If left sitting, the whole car goes down slowly (over 2 days, not immediately), so I think I can assume that it is not one particular air-spring that is leaking.

I cannot hear any air loss from the tank, so I think that I am going to open the 3 valves and refurbish and clean them.

I know where the front valve is, and the back one also, but can someone tell me where the 3rd valve block is, and how to get to it.

Does anyone else have any advice on what I should look at?

Thanks for your help!!

Nick

Third valve block is next to the compressor. Just in front of it. Thumbs Up
