Changed air pipe
Hi at all
have you already changed the air pipe which goes from the front solenoid valve to the left air spring ?it is thé longest
this question because my pipe is broken

When sat in the car the front valve on the right
If you want to change the left pipe then yes it’s the longest.
Some factory ones were coloured. Orange maybe

Hope this also helps u , if I remember rightly it runs from the front valve block , under the chassis rail and over to the LH side , need to remove both inner plastic wheel arch liners
It’s the green one that goes to the LH air strut , to make life easier I also replaced my Voss connectors with push fits , plus a lot cheaper
Also managed to find a picture of another disco by the washer bottle showing the route of the green pipe

I’ve not seen any guides.
Why do you need to change both pipes.
This is very unusual ?
Do you have a slow leak?
The first steps are to
Jack the front up on axel stands.
Loosen right wheel arch liner
May need to remove bumper

Plus 1 ^^^ , also think that LH pipe alone is around £100.00, hopefully it can be repaired just using some push fit connections if the actual pipe is broke

thank you both for enlightening me..
the long pipe was repaired in several places with push fit connectors and it leaks at these levels..I disconnected and reconnected but it leaks very slowly..
that's why I change them

Ur so welcome , always a team effort
Here’s a link of decent fittings , alas fittings can leak if the ends of the pipes arnt cut square or have scoring marks on them , u can normally if there’s enough pipe to cut them back a bit , usinf some emery cloth on the ends to ensure there smooth without any cut marks
Hopefully it’s not leaking on the bent parts of the pipe as to save a lot of money if u cut off the pre formed pipe and then ordered some 6mm pipe to join in between them
Apart from the fittings this company also sells the 6mm pipe
Plus just in case I think the part number for that pipe is RQB000476

I have the new pipes for the front..the right and the left..in France we have a specialized land rover scrapyard and they have used pipes at good prices..
on the other hand on the tubes then keep the Voss fittings or replace them with elbow or straight push fit ones

Ur so very welcome in passing on what knowledge I gained when I virtually done my entire suspension system , indeed always a forum team effort , great you’ve already got the pipes
I also put a very small amount of clear plumbers silicone grease on the outside of the pipes to aid them going into the fittings smoothly , another reason is to prevent pushing the rubber O rings in , just a precaution
Regarding the fittings I personally used push fits as it made the job a lot cheaper and considerably easier
Didn’t take too long to remove the front struts , fitted new struts anyway so was very easy removing the Voss connectors and replaced them with new pushfits , old struts were leaking , if I may add plse ensure u don’t put to much PTFE on the fitting threads otherwise there’s may be a risk of opening up the valve block hole , was just being cautious
Had thought about using a swivel elbow on the struts but the pipe comes straight down if I remember correctly
Have u got a plastic tube cutter please as don’t be tempted to use a hacksaw or ur leave small flakes of plastic to go round the system and possibly under the valve block seals , hope that doesn’t come across in trying to teach u how to suck eggs
Another thing I found very useful was a long reach garden sprayer for bubble testing hard to reach joints , like the top ones on the struts
Did raise mine to off road height then removed the engine bay fuse number F26 , jacked it up and placed axle stands underneath , when I fitted the new front struts I used the scissor jack to raise the lower arm to get the large bolt in , used copperslip on all the suspension bolts to aid removal if required later on , ur also need a deep socket for the bottom bolt
Had to remove both front plastic wheel arch liners , found some really good pliers to get those plastic securing fixings out , did fit all new ones , at the same time with the inner arches trim out I sprayed the metal inner parts with some more dinotrol as extra protection , just covered all the brakes etc up to stop any overspray

you kept the voss connectors on the air springs..
