Just gave my tintent the spring clean, ready for the season - I saw on another forum a recommendation for a product called Greased Lightning, a waterless car cleaning product so gave it a try although I did wash the tintent first as I had my doubts about scratches.
Wow ............... this stuff really works well, takes off the black streaks and all other grime with a single wipe and leaves a waxed finish that beads water very well.
Hope this is useful for others, I got mine from Amazon.

Hi Dexter
When we had our van in storage I'd give it a wash over a couple of times a year but otherwise used an equivalent waterless cleaner called care-a-van. Approved by bailey it was nothing short of superb.cut straight through black streaks in one wipe and left a real deep shine with its carnuba content.
The only area I never used it on we're the polyplastic windows - always washed them first.
Loads of tintenters on the forums swear by GL.

Yup, I was a Fenwicks fan and used it very successfully for many years on several different tintents. But for some reason the black streaks on my new van, a Sterling Eccles Sport 636 were not that easy to shift with the old tried and trusted Fenwicks. Took a bit of elbow grease tbh.
Greased Lightning just takes them all away in one light wipe, and also contains carnauba to leave a waxed finish

I used the brush with cotton rag on the end, then change for clean rag and buff off.

I've used the greased lightning, it's good stuff and cleans better than Fenwicks IMHO and adds a wax protection

I can't see the roof
But knowing full well that runs downhill I do clean the roof now and again, use an extended pole with a cloot on the end.

I crawl on roof on all fours. Aren't you supposed to then?
The handbook says maximum weight on the roof is something like 80 kgs. I'm not that heavy although accompanied by a bucket of water it will be a bit more than 80 kgs.

I bought a bottle of caravan cleaner off a market stall 2 years ago, marvellous stuff, best I've ever used, next day I woke up with sore hands and have suffered with sores on my hands ever since even though I have specialist treatment. The manufacturer is untraceable. Moral is don't ignore protective clothes as the majority of this cleaner is acid based. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
