I've been waiting for you to start your thread, looking really good indeed (Love the tent as well)
I see you don't carry the box section over the tailgate - I was wandering about that also, but decided to run right across it in the end, it still opens easily though.
Can't lift my tent yet, so proof of concept will have to wait for me
Keep us posted, I'm particularly interested on how you're planning to get the box off when it's needed as a normal trailer (log runs etc.), legs, or hanging from the garage roof? I was originally thinking about legs for the box, but now perhaps a hanging system for each corner....

Preference is 2mm ally, out for quotes at the moment, failing that 1.2mm steel
The Landy in hiding is my 1972 V8 RRC that I've shortened to 88" wheel base and had a full comp space frame mounted over, it's a 3M challenger, 2 seats a fuel tank and not much else, been in the garage I build for 10yrs , only needs a few bits to finish, promised my self to make it a road legal driver not just a comp safari racer, nearly there.

Yep 3 in total, there's a 1989 90" next to the trailer too, proper Landy and a full green lane toy, winched, lifted, tweaked :300tdi fitted, recaro's and harnesses, built that one a few years back, beforeI started the buggy, needs done TLC now though it's been through a few lanes, a made a new rear 1/4 chassis for it a couple of years ago Altox GSM FBH controller thread

So had a trip out today and collected 6 sheets of 2500x1250 mm aluminium and a length of of 100x50x5mm box section
Tha sheets are for cladding and the box for extending and lowering the draw bar.
So after work tonight with the help of a Plasma cutter and trusty mig welder this appeared from the box section

Hopefully I'll get the drawbar cut and this welded in tomorrow morning after meeting up with Discotres
It drops the hitch by the height I need to pick up on my NATO hitch bracket and extends the draw bar by 500mm Altox GSM FBH controller thread
