Cairns blue bonnet rash - lettering suggestions
Over the past while the bonnet rash on my Cairns blue Discovery has been getting worse and now looks downright scabby, so its time to apply a little make up.
Its booked in locally in 2 weeks time to have the bonnet resprayed and I need to replace the bonnet lettering, looks like the genuine lettering would need a mortgage to replace.
Anyone any suggestions on what to use instead?
On a side note - the paintman examined it and said it looks to have been caused by the primer being to shiny and not giving a good key for the top coat.

Not an endorsement but powerful UK had more economical alternatives for lettering if you don’t want genuine.
Mine looks like this:

Bonnet being resprayed tomorrow and Tuesday
Old lettering removed yesterday

Looking forward to no more scabby looking rash on the bonnet

What paint are they using ? Some of the new water based paints dry slowly and have a breathable lacquer, solvent evaporates slowly from the paint and could effect the glue of the lettering. It maybe worth asking if you need to leave it before applying the lettering.

No idea
I won't be fitting the lettering for a while probably leave it for a few weeks
when it comes back 1st on the list is to overhaul the rear brakes, I've had new discs, pads calipers and slide pins sitting for a couple of months now

Looks
Any plans on fixing the greyness of the headlight washers? I’ve got the same and haven’t gotten around to try a magic sponge or gtechniq c4 trim restorer. Too much else to do...

None - never notice them and no idea if they even work, complete waste of time.
Had them on my TD5 and without wipers don't really see any benefit of them (to me)

There’s always this option for the front bumper

Here they have to work and are mandatory with xenon headlights.

For some reason in UK, testing headlamp washers requirement only applies to post 1st Sept 2009 vehicles
