Brakes(?) Squealing at low speed on extreme lock |
|
As per title. It happened today whilst negotiating tight corners in a car park. It sounds like brake pads but I wasn't applying the brakes. Any clues as to what might be the cause (before I go to the dealer)would be appreciated.

Were you on full steering lock? Might be power steering belt slipping.

I think I have the same problem. Looks likee when I am driving and esp on Left hand turns the brakes are squealing. Both my rear disks feel scored and have a fair lip to them, the fronts are smooth and free from lip.
Looking to replace them to see it it cures.
ps
When I brake the squeal goes away is urs the same?

Confirmed : On full lock. Is a slipping belt an easy fix (while U wait)?
I didn't try the brakes. I'll have to wait for it to happen again.

Sorry Bill, not sure how easy it would be to adjust. Mate had a car that "squealed during the night". But only at night. Eventually found that his alternator belt was slipping, the demand of having the lights on was just enough extra load.

Mine does it too, more noticeable in reverse than going forward. I think its the brakes, but I've no proof!!
