Same ere! 5 year old D3 battery having difficulty cranking and HDC fault in the cold we are having. Going to ring TLO tommorow for a new job, one of those 950 jobs. I dont want to push it to breakdown point.
I am happy to change it given the general consensous on here, but has anybody had their battery tested prior to replacement?
Cheers Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:

Goatofmendez,
A good point well made because I have just bought today the new battery from my local stealer (£116 ) and it is 950A SAE.

In answer to Dave's query, Yes I had my battery tested. My first D3 (2005MY) was not quite 3 years old. Caravan in the drive, D3 halfway out of the garage, having started in the garage. Then nothing. LR Assist man there in 35 minutes, tested the battery. His words were "Well, I can start it if you want me to, but do not switch off until you get home again. " We were going away for 3 weeks. After calls to 3 dealers he found a battery about 20 miles away, went to collect it and then fitted. All done and dusted in about 1 1/2 hours. All under warranty. At that time he said he did not carry a spare battery for any LR product. Since changed I believe.
