bad week - engine check fuel filler cap missing

I have had a message on and off at start up saying fuel filler cap missing or lose

Its not.

Then today my wife called to say check light had come on

plugged in the MSV and fault code say
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK DETECTED (GROSS LEAK/NO FLOW) -:P0455 (INTERMITTENT)

Any ideas - petrol v8

I'd be interested in the outcome as I've had the same message - but not the check light (yet).

Cheers

Good point, will check. Not seen the message for a few weeks, but will check seal anyway.

No mice that I've seen Laughing

You never do see them ------- till its too late

The chewed me a new vent in my golf bag, i couldnt work out why my balls were rolling all over the floor, put them back in the bag and out they came again, looked underneath and the little b*ggers had chewed a hole in the bottom.

So the moral is keep chocolate out of your ball bag, and dont expect to see mice.

It really does sound like the dreaded D3 vs mice problem. It has happened to quite a few on the forum so you won't be the first!

i reset the check light with faultmate - and all is ok for now

read up on the web - it could be the carbon canister thats knackered - if the car has been overfilled it floods the filter

other than that not sure - hoping its not the LPG. it does happen it seems after filling up with petrol - so guess i will stop doing that Rolling with laughter

anyone else with LPG have this issue?

from time to time i also here a funny noise from the fuel pump - kind of clicking noise when you take the filler cap off
