Doesn't need any of that ...the RAI is for air not water ...even if you fit a airtight snorkel you wouldn't want water above the bonnet for anything other than a very short length of time.
But I think the video shows that an RAI is fairly useful when wading
So the diff etc has raised air in takes or one way valves?
there are raised breather pipes that are factory fitted to the , diffs , transfer and gearbox
they terminate right at the back of the engine on the bulkhead
when i fitted the new front diff modified breather i did extend it, with a 6mm pushfit coupling then plastic pipe onto under the spare battery cover ,

Not that I will be doing much wading. I like the D3 too much. I have even cleaned it.

Ref the diffs ...I meant that you don't need to add anything
The OEM RAI is not a sealed unit, it doesn't give you any additional wading capability

I guess the electronics get killed these days. I just put the bits that were at risk in small tupperware boxes seal each end.
It was the 2.8 Shougun, so not a lot in the way of ECUs.
Them were the days, I even waded with an old Ford escort diesel van when we got flooded around Edenbridge many many years ago.An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

They should have used an open top jeep, rather than wasting a D4!
