Other interesting fact (or i thought it was) the LR guys said all the Pre Production ones on the tour will be crushed at the end, none will survive. Not so sure about the Prototypes guess they may save one or two for posterity. I think prototypes are allowed on the road with some hoops to jump through like fuel cutoff and dead mans switches etc. MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

I believe that there are good tax reasons for crushing prototypes, as there is a lot of instant write down to be had from the destruction of a car whose current value is a great deal less than it cost to build. They are also usually in a bad way and the last thing they want cropping up cheaply in the used market when the car is still so new. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)

Correct when we went on the Gayden tour there was a compound full and I mean full of loads and loads of different LR/RR vehicles all waiting for tax man to come along and authorize their destruction. Some looked brand new............. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I saw one t'other week on the road. It had "prototype vehicle" stencilled on it too just to prove the point. Presumably there are insurance issues that limit who can drive them on the public road. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
