More autos sold in Aus as the auto gearbox is standard and the manual is a no cost option. I use the command shift a lot when towing.

whereas I'm all smiles - 32mpg compared to my 20mpg Galaxy.

And there I was thinking that our choice of vehicle was environmentally un-sound...

I have always enjoyed shifting manuals, and thought I would never buy an automatic. But then, I never drove anything so heavy
I've tried a manual disco 3 and found the shifting uncomfortable and slow.
The auto is very, very nice, but if you want to improve mileage, you have to use command shift. It's still slow, but very comfortable.
Besides: HDC, DSC, TR, ABS, XYZ, CNN, BBC.... everything else is automatic, so what the heck! Blue

I fill up once every day. And it is very stress free coz most of my driving is at night when all the idiots are tucked up in bed. So i put my music on and just sit back get to what ever dealer i am go to, give them the car first thing in the morning. Have a nap in the back, get my back load then go home

I used to drive about 140,000 miles a year and it nearly killed me, but mine were very long trips, usually from tank full to tank full.
