Approved and then there is Land Rover Approved
After purchasing my 2006 Disco 3 from Stratstone Wolverhampton I thought I was safe with my 12 month warranty should anything go wrong.
Having had a run of minor failures I decided to use the power of the warranty!
What I expected to be a quick phone call was even quicker when the salesman told me 'you get 3 months only' and its finished so tough luck.
I had an equally quick conversation with Land Rover who told me that yes they have a Land Rover website with the Land Rover logo and they do sell Land Rovers but they are only an Approved Service Centre and so their sales are not covered by Land Rover's warranty.
Next time I will check the small print (though it didn't mention warranty) and ask the question only it won't be to Stratstone Landrover!
It's sharp practice and probably actionable - read here and then contact your local TSO if you think it's something you want to take further.
I've read an argument that Stratstones do it so that they can price the cars lower, but aren't taking pains to point out the difference. Someone on rrsport had a similar issue - may be worth a search?Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
You get 6 months select warranty if your vehicle is over 3 years old or 45000 miles, if under it is 12 months approved warranty, check our landrover approved website it quotes all info Inc MOT info
When I bought mine from Stratstones, I was aware of it having a 3month warranty - which did surprise me a little as I too thought it was on the Approved LR list - but whatever, I did upgrade to an additional 12months anyway.
Glad I did as it's had a load of stuff done to it - probably 2 or 3k worth. Bearings all round, bushes all round, EPB, EGR (x2) MAP Sensor and more to come as they still haven't sorted my ESF
But very bad form that you weren't told about it.Mark.

af I feel your pain!! Mine seems to be sorted, even to the point SWMBO is happy driving it again. Not that she had much choice lately as her car was in the bodyshop for a week after some dozzy moo (not the member here) crashed into it! Has the turbo been changed? I know I've asked that & you've answered but I can't remember & CBAed trawling back through.
