At the end of the day rarely if ever does a company the size of JLR do something without consulting a selected group of their target market, you don't spend 100s of millions building a product in the hope some one will buy it.
And the problem is average car buyer is now attuned to any new model being just that bit more luxurious/ having more toys ect than the previous.==================================

I recall around four/five years ago a thread started by LR on the replacement for the Freelander on Freel2, don't think that they took that much notice of it judging by the amount of Freel2 members that have purchased the replacement. Another thread was started by LR on Freel2 around three years ago asking for members to fill in an online survey on the technology items they would want.

Your views are only asked when you report back to dealership with all the problems you have found when the test car/drivers couldn't because we are only good for being guinea pigs
An absolute appalling and arrogant attitude towards their past loyal customers !
If you look at the "how old are you" thread ...most past loyal customers will be daisy pushing soon ron
Suppose we assume people will typically drive until they are 70 or older. Assuming rough averages from the poll, that's about 13% with 5 years left, 29% with 15 years left, 34% with 25 years left, 11% with 35 years left and 6% with 45 years left. Take the 3% over 70 at 0. Combine those figures and the average driving time left for said Disco3 members is over 20 years. On average, most cars don't last that long on the road...
It's a very simplistic and I'm sure innacurate approach, but I'm not sure that accurate figures would suggest LR should ingore their existing customers either. Nick Faldo drives up to a filling station in his new Range Rover.
The young pump attendant, who knows nothing about Nick or golf spots a tee that fell out when Faldo opened the door.
'What's that for?' asks the young lad.
'For resting my balls on' replies Nick.
'Wow, those Range Rover designers think of everything!'
