I will like a poll asking should Smart cars be banned - Did you know as a percentage of cars on the road in London they are caught more often on speed cameras than any other car. I cann't back this up but I remember reading it in the Evening Standard a year or so ago.

I hope we get the snow that’s predicted. Then we’ll see their opinion change:-) A lone Disco in the land of the Cayenne.

Rushing home before any of their friends see them. A lone Disco in the land of the Cayenne.

Interestingly, that came up earlier on Vine's programme when they were talking about the predicted severe winter. The correspondent suggested that it would be a good idea to have a 4x4!!
On the subject of Smart cars, there was a great article in Autocar debunking some of the anti-4x4 myths. There was a table showing CO2 emission per seat for various types of transport. 747s did particularly badly but a D3 was way below many of the 'acceptable' standard cars and the Smart was pathetically high! I think it was in May some time: I was reading it in the dentist's the other day; wish I'd filched it!

We drive a big car that happens to be a 4X4 because it does the job of about 5 other cars.
MPV
Van
Runabout
Luxury Limo
Off roader
Seems cheap compared to owning all that and it does better MPG than my 3 series BMW.
Have to say that on the school run we have a better chance of spotting the kid about to run into the road. That is untill the whole area gets big 4X4s.
The arguement about people only driving what they truely have a need for seems pretty flawed especially when some of us enjoy our driving. Then why buy any vehicle capable of more than 70 mph, we should all be driving those 3 wheeler invalid carraiges that were around in my yoof.

If you ask nicely us dentists are quite happy to rehome some of our magazines, filching is not necessary.
It saves us having to pay to have our bins emptied or the trip down to the recycling centre in our os so polluting D3's
