Altox WBUS-5 GPS - GPS Location Question
Hi all,
Recently purchased the above FBH controller and its all working fine alongside the T91 remote in my D4 using the cable from the forum shop.
However... I'm sure that when I was testing (out of car, just connected to 12v PSU) I was able to see the location in the app without having the TRACKING setting enabled. I realise that you don't get the live tracking info without this but I thought the request of a one off location was possible?
Can anyone confirm their settings and if you can get the one off location without having full tracking enabled.
You might ask why don't I just enable it. Answer, I already have another tracker in the car connected to a system that tracks a number of vehicles.

As far as I know I didn't actually activate anything on mine except the sim card but the APP tells me where the car is all the time and if you press map it displays the location perfectly.

That exactly what I meant. I thought that was the case but mine has stoped updating the location unless I enable full tracking.
any chance you could post your SETTINGS2 info (just text SETTINGS2 to the device and it should sent the settings back.
Are you sure about your APN settings?
Here in Italy, user and psw are blank.
In yours maybe something is missing.

Hi thanks for the settings.
You have live tracking on (T1) and mine works in that config but its a waste of data for me as I already have a live tracker on the car.
Re the APN, they are network specific and they are correct for the giffgaff network. All other functions are fine so I know that is working and the locations also work if I turn on full tracking as you have, but the one off location request is supposed to work without the tracking.
One thing I forgot to add in my original post is that if you text STATUS to the device then you get the correct Google maps link back so I know the GPS is fine too.Dorian Woolger

How do i turn the full tracking on exactly?
Instructions are winning the fight a little i think.
I have set up account on altox tracking site and it had asked for the IMEI number of the sim but when i enter it just states that i have to switch the sim to data transfer mode ? I take it there are some settings to send to get the T0 to T???

Sent TRACKING1 to the device and its coming back as T1 now but the info entry on the Altox website is asking for a name and IMEI number but every time i put the nuber in off the giffgaff sim it just says I need to switch the sim to data transfer mode so not sure what im doing wrong unless the number on the sim isnt the IMEI no. ?
SORTED... i think...it would seem the number it wants is my id sent from the altox which is not the number on the sim D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

Yes if you go into edit on the object you can click the truck icon to open a list of lots of others.
Re texting. Not looked into that but if other systems are anything to go by, if it is possible, there will be a charge as texts cost money where as a simple email sending systems do not.
If you are happy to pay, there are a quite a few email to SMS systems out there.Dorian Woolger
