Air Vents closed on fully auto climate control |
|
Hi
I have a week old brand new Disco and when using the fully automatic climate control setting no air comes from the dash vents. If I manually turn on the vents on the buttons to the left of the vents I get hot air blowing from the face vents.
On fully auto most of the heat seems to be going to the footwells.
How do I overcome this or is this a fault?
Thanks
Paul

Have the HEVAC mappings checked.

Maybe I'm confused, but in my LR3... the "auto" vent mode rarely tends to use the front "in your face" dash vents. I thought this was by design. The temperature seems to still be adjusted correctly. (And isn't that why there are manual switches for the vent, too?)

I assume , as on my previous Volvo V70, that the auto setting balances feet, face and windscreen. As soon as I hit the auto button I hear the vents shut behind the dash and I no longer get a warm body.
Hopefully I haven't got one of the special features on these cars...!
I'll have to ask the dealer I guess.

It's very biased towards feet! I know hot air rises but the D3 takes that concept to extremes The End

Ask your dealer to check the HEVAC mappings; it is quite a common problem.

you can ask them to remap to whatever you want, mine had the square root of all coming out of the footwell vents, now it's a good balance... took two trips to dealer though

Problem is finding a dealer that knows what he's doing, if I've got some details I can give them they'll probably do it but trying to get them to work out how to do it is another matter The End

I just went down to mine and said " no hot air from here - please fix" - and repeated the same a day later, but more forcefully

One complaint is that lack of "fresh" air from face vents. Apparently they are only on the Range Rover from BMW days.???
