Sorry but your repeated comment of "Yes it does" is not correcting the issue.
Legal Expenses Insurance does not reimburse the uninsured losses as you suggest.
It pays the legal fees to persue the uninsured losses.
I do however agree with your post "it's not fair if you don't know certain aspects of this industry"

I get your point, you have to get the wording right with any re-quoting on the forum.
My own experience of this a few years ago was a total recovery of my 'uninsured losses' with a further £250 towards 'inconveniences???'.
Crazy but true, no serious injuries, a car did a u-turn across us in Somerset whilst camping and after years of being sold this policy actually got to use it!
A mates wife used this Legal cover on a house policy to claim for roof slates falling on their car, but last year dropped it to save £10?
Your right it is to 'pursue' these losses and no guarantee but thankfully it did pay out for me.

I called Admiral - one phone call, 15 mins, no hard haggling, very helpful representative, £710 reduction - cheaper this year than last and overall cheaper than messing about on the price comparison sites.
My son is insured with Admiral got his renewal at £519 this year this was up about £45 on last years premium. My son doesn't like haggling to much and asked me to look at it, so I rang Admiral an asked them to give me their best price after a bit of a chat the guy I was talking to asked how much I was quoted elsewhere told him Admiral had first refusal to keep the business he came back with an initial quote of £386 then said he had some special discounts to play with and brought it down to £307.
I think with Admiral it pays to challenge their first renewal quote this is the second time I've done it although last years reduction was only £76 "Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag'em down to your level. It's cheaper".

Not really, no. Legal expenses cover provides exactly that - your costs if you have to resort to legal means to resolve any aspect of a claim/loss/incident. You may well have to resort to such means in order to recover uninsured losses, excess payments in a non-fault claim, etc., and your legal expenses cover will cover the cost of doing that - but it won't directly cover such losses.
EDIT: Sorry, should've read the whole way through the thread before replying, I can now see that this has already been covered! Never mind.

The key point here is whose roof did the slates fall from? If it was a neighbour's roof, then the legal expenses cover would've looked after the cost of a solicitor to assist with claiming compensation from the neighbour after their unsecured roof tiles fell onto the car. If it was from their own roof, then legal cover would've been no use at all (you can't take yourself to court!).

Rang on his behalf, I'm a named driver on his policy and my son had previously arranged / authorised me to discuss the policy on his behalf with Admiral. I have the same arrangement with my daughters policy that is also with Admiral "Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag'em down to your level. It's cheaper".
