Sorry to say this, as it obviously won't help you sort out your problems but my BB 8900 curve works perfect in the D4. Phonebook and Caller ID work with no issues. I bought the phone in November '09 turned the bluetooth on and it all worked fine straight away, no software updates were needed.
Fishy, can you confirm the software version and network your on please?LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I have found the following details:
v4.6.1.199 (platform 4.2.0.102).
If thats not the software info, let me know and I'll see what other details I can find.
Also, just a thought, I have a GS model and therefore don't have the touch screen, just the basic screen for radio/phone info. Just wondered if that would make any difference as I assume I have different software

I think, but cannot check right now, that the GS uses a different telephone module to the XS/HSE. Nokia vs. Continental, if I remember rightly.

Bluetooth is very shakey as a protocol and a perfect match is needed between car and phone for all facilities to work. My htc touch phone suffered from intermittent pairing at first and only shared the phonebook with the car, not the call history.
I updated the ROM in the phone to the latest from Vodafone (not a perfect match with the LR website) and wonder of wonders, I got perfect pairing, display of phonebook and call history, each time I got in to the car with the phone.
For a week.
Then it went right back to where it started from and has not changed since. Drops out of pairing mid call to 'no phone attached' status. Bah!2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)
2009 D4 HSE TDV6, Bali blue (first run D4)
2007 RRS TDV8 HSE, some blue

My network guys tell me it is a BB fault. He is speaking to them to try and sort it out so will post when I have some more news. Poor show on LR IMO.

I managed to connect my phone when I first bought the car, my B. Bold 9000 was sporting V4.6.0.303 then, I had caller recognition as well.
I had to delete the phone book in the car as it was mixed with the previous owners listings.
In the interim period I had upgraded my B Bold 9000 to V. 5.0.0.411.
It is now impossible to resync my address book I get the Unable to push message!!
So I downgraded to the old version software, and that no longer works either...........search me!!
I have since found a page on the blackbery website that tells me this is a known problem with Landrover and it has been brought to the attention of their techs

Ignore what the Network vendor guys say - they don't know their elbows from the a***ses half the time.
Have you tried updating the BB software from the BB site (but remember you need to go via you network provider's site to get to BB's network specific downloads)?
I took mine to version 5 of the OS and implemented all available updates afterwards - it's quite different in places but now seems to work with the D4.

Yup that's what my BB said when I did a "check for updates" on the phone.
The update is too big for it to be done wireless. You have to use a PC to download it. It should be the same PC you have BB Desktop manager installed on.
See me post from above :

I had tried the wireless update and always got "No updates Available" but never thought to try via Vodafone website.
I went via the Vodafone website to the Blackberry one through their (Vodafone's) link, not directly, and selected Software updates, there I got the option to update 8900 from 4.1.1.168 to:
4.6.1.310, or even
5.0.0.411
So being a cautious sole, I've tried the 4.6.1.310 version first and on initial checking the Address Book has now been transferred.
I'll do some test of the other functions tomorrow and will report back any findings.

I took delivery of D4 HSE yesterday and paired my Blackberry 8900 - was on software version 4.6.x and the phonebook didn't work (no names, strangely numbers seemed to come through), so upgraded to 5.0.0.411 last night using Blackberry Desktop Manager as MrH suggested. This morning phonebook works just fine.
Not sure about caller id (no calls to me), will check later.
Thanks to all on this thread for testing and posting - saved me a lot of time and effort.
