sort of. I've just gone to hard wire my cb to my aux battery and blown the inline fuse in the inc cable. When I looked at the fuse to order replacement I noticed it's a 6 amp 250v fuse !!! From cb manufacturer !!

Voltage in this application is irrelevant. It just means it can be used in a household circuit for example.
6A should be ample for a standard CB - 4W at 12V is 1/3A - call it an amp with all the other stuff going on. The only thing may have been inrush when first firing up and all the capacitors charging at once.Mark.

Just remember that before you start put a big spanner across the -ve and +ve battery terminals Derek, you'll be fine then
Note to self, don't do that!!
Right the next step, fuses, but not a lot of room.

Looking at as below, self tapered into the front of the battery box. I'm not that keen on mounting it on the metal work, I don't mind drilling holes in plastic but the inner wing is a different matter.

Or is there anywhere behind the foot panels where this could be mounted? Would need to be reasonably easy to access to check fuses. Though that would need longer un-fused cable run.
And keep an eye out for my 8mm socket LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

It's just my nerviousness at drilling holes in metal! I might be able to bolt the fuse holder onto a bit of plastic then use double sided no nails type stuff to fix that plus fuse holder to the paintwork. Might work.
Its only metal LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I know but I know my limitations!! Got a fiendish plan.
Now how the hell do I get this trim bit off. I tried pulling from the bottom with no joy, my finger tips were going to come off before that panel budged.

Is there any way to get a cable from the engine bay to the fusebox behind the glovebox without removing those panels!
No need to remove that, just the lower trim above the footwells and the lower glove box, then you can weave it through by torchlight.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Thanks to the gods for that. Will get a cable tie connected to a cable and pass it through to SWMBO. Then sort out getting it through the other way to the aux batt.
I haven't looked a thing the secret grommet from the driver's side yet but daft question time. If I push the grommet through into the engine bay, how do I seal the hole once cables have gone through?
Leave the gromet in place, just nip/cut a small cut/hole into it just big enough to take the cable but tight enough to form a seal. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Now that sounds like a plan. I'm no longer wading but wouldn't want water coming in when it's raining.

Where did you get the bracket that is holding the batttery?
