Coz I've got all the bits & bobs for the solenoid setup in the spare room along with all the other bits from Dark Bluie.
It did 9 years excellent service in the D3, was nice and simple (suits me) and was just aiming to do the same in the D4. I don't want anything too complicated.
But if I was to look at Traxide, U using the SC40 in the D4?
PS U selling it?
OK Traxide seems to fit the bill, but which box of tricks. USI-160?

Del, I have a a few of the 4 12v sockets in the garage or you can buy them on the bay, here's on example
eBay Item No. 202023065604
I swapped the switch out for a 2nd 12v socket, so I have 2 std 12v sockets, voltmeter and a twin ISB
Do a few searches on eBay and if no luck, drop me a pm (will be a few weeks though as away next few weeks with travel and work)Iggy/Ieuan

Yes - D4 has the SC40. Originally from my old D3. The current D3 probably has the same set up as you? Fitted by TFC.
If I was buying new I would go for the SC80 even if that is more than necessary for what I use the dual battery set up for. But never had any problems with the SC40 in 10 years. Will probably get the SC80 kit for the D4 replacement
And yes...the SC40 kit will be up for sale soon (along with quite a few other bits and pieces) when the D4 goes but not until January time frame so later than you need it ?
(PS. I will have rear ladder, rock sliders, full underbody protection, roofrack, RAI and other stuff I can gladly sell to you even though you have said you won`t need that for your D4... )MY2008 D3 - It got me hooked...gone

Swap the roof switch thingie for all that stuff.
No, my serious off-roading days are over. Road trips are the name of the game, even I find the last one didn't end well. Just need leckie kit sorted for the Engel and cold beer milk.
Will have a look at the SC40 & SC80 kit. Once MrH has shown me how to move all the clobber out of the battery, and fit the battery, and run the cables, and hopefully get it all working.

Not sure if running cable to the rear but seats were coming out anyway for load-deck. Can get it nicely along the "gutter” and under the carpet. Should be fun on Saturday.

Battery is all installed and all ticketyboo, may thanks MrH.
Lots of moving stuff around, me dripping my socket wrench , moving more stuff, me dropping my socket wrench again and then me not being allowed near the engine bay with my socket wrench. Solenoid is working a treat and the mystery of ignition live 12v source has been solved. Just got to feed the cables through the secret grommet and get the power into the interior of the car. Then power the aux sockets from that via the relay and run power to the rear for future. Then the beast will live, of the aux battery anyway.

Just remember that before you start put a big spanner across the -ve and +ve battery terminals Derek, you'll be fine then LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
