Hi all
Does anyone make a loom extension to fit the newer mirrors or know which parts are required so I can make a loom up before I strip the door down
Thanks Paul

It depends on what your current mirrors have and what your new mirrors have, i.e. power fold, heated, memory, camera etc.
Are you going from 2010-14 to 14 to 16 mirrors? If so, all you need (if you don’t have cameras and the spec match) is a single contact and a length of wire (yellow I think is best). 012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

I currently have a 2013 D4 HSE so guessing power fold, heated and memory no camera,
the spec on the new items on eBay are power fold not sure on memory or heated defiantly no camera though, is there an easy/simple to tell before purchasing ?
Thanks

The more wires, the more it has. If it has 2 or 3 fly leads it has everything. The black connector is the main connector and is the same for all 2010 to 1016. A small grey connector is a camera lead. A bigger grey connector will be for blind spot monitoring. If the mirrors you’re looking at have more than you need I’d live with that, if they don’t have the same as your originals, you can swap the internals from your 13 mirrors to the 14 to 16. 012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Would like to upgrade 2013 MY mirrors to facelift door mirrors. Not bothered about cameras etc just want theme to open and fold and the indicator to work. Is this relatively straightforward & how would I do from start to finish plus any materials needed?
Thanks in advance

Very easy for that MY. Depending on how professional you want to make it dictates what you need.
When I did mine, I bought the contact pin for the plug, got the correct colour wire for the indicator and soldered it into the loom at the indicator loom. I covered the indicator slots with Autobiography badges as mine is RRS AB, but you can buy the SDV6 badge or which ever to fit. 012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Thanks for the reply but what contact pin would I need and would I need to solder the wire from the new mirror to the loom?
And which part of the loom am I looking for?
Also what do I do with wires from the door indicator?
Think I need a step by step video guide lol

Not sure on the pin as I can’t find the details now but will have another look.
The 14> mirror connects into your existing plug so you only need to insert the new pin and wire into your existing plug (there is a plastic lock you prise open before pushing the pin in from the back).
Pull out your door indicator and identify the + wire. What you do from here is your choice, what I did was, follow the + wire back to where it branches from the loom, strip the insulation back a little and solder in the new wire. I then pulled the bulb from the holder, wrapped the holder in a thin foam sheet and taped it up and pushed it in to the door out of the way. I then fit badges over the holes making sure they were sealed.
The earth isn’t required as the new wing mirror indicator is earthed through a common earth which already exists in your existing loom. 012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

When I did my 2014 mirror up grade I just made up a patch lead.
Know it’s cheating, but as I have to go in there again to wire up the surround camera’s, was just a temporary fix.
Did manage to get some genuine SDV6 badges but they are like hen’s teeth to get hold of. Liberty modified 200Tdi start of the Land Rover Discovery Obsession

Think I understand and from memory there are 2 wires going into the door indicator black & red but how do I check which is positive? I then trace back the wire to the loom and solder a wire from that (positive door indicator wire) to the new door mirror - how do I connect this wire to the new mirror? Just connect new mirror to existing plug (no need for a new 'pin')? Doesn't sound too difficult then....

It’s just basically a single wire from the indicator wire on the mirror to the old door indicator wire.
Thing is I’m still getting round to putting in the surround camera’s 3yrs later 🤣 Liberty modified 200Tdi start of the Land Rover Discovery Obsession
