Wheel bearings

Does anyone have the parts list for front and rear wheel bearings replacement and associated parts needed. Someone mentioned a new back plate needed as well for the rears but not sure what this is?
Local garage said VAG bearings are good option.

think timken beaings favoured here...maybe original gear...back plates only normally needed if car is old and they have rusted or been damaged..rear axle

Ordered Timken bearings for fronts and VAG for rears. Will keep the local garage busy for a while...

Is that Timken hubs with fitted bearings?.
I don't think it practical to fit new bearings to previously used front hubs.

Edit Sorry, I see complete units are described as front hub bearings. I remembered that another member had previously proposed fitting replacement bearings to his existing hubs.

Wheel bearings now replaced all round. Should future proof it for a while!

Timken are the best with VAG a close second, just to reassure you Thumbs Up

I remember reading somewhere that Timken roller bearings were fitted to some of the later steam engines and that they were that free running that (on the level) a person could actually push along a mainline steam engine. Not sure how hard that would be but shows they have produced quality products for a long time.
