Hi Folks,

Has anyone got any pics of the wheels that are on the 2012 HSE spec vehicles Question I have seen the so called dealer pics from the LR memo but they dont give much away and the LR website aint gonna be up dated for some time Shocked Shocked

I am interested in the options (all of them) and not just the std wheels - help please chaps Thumbs Up
 "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Even though my D3 spent most of it's life receiving warranty treatments for the last 4 years I've just ordered the HSE SDV6 MY12. The dealer offered the extended warranty if I bought this months but renegged - so I've taken this up with Land Rover Australia customer relations department. It was a toss up between Prado Kakadu and D4. Anyway it's white (I haven't washed mine in 4 years), Alpine roof (a must in Australia) Logic7 ... oooh yeah, cooler box (anoeher must) electric diff and extended roof rails to carry my surfboards.
Looking forward to the car, but not getting a set of off road tyres for her as I do plenty of 4x4.

Quite like the look of the new 19" wheels. Presumablz they will be available as accessories before too long from the usual sources? Anyone know the part number yet?
 MY11 D4 SDV6 SE LHD (with remote park heater, heated seats in row 2, heated steering wheel and rear HVAC controls!)

(and the deal is probably driven /funded by the manufacturer, rather than the NFU)

TO help answer those asking about the flappy paddles, although my XF has the 6-speed box I gather they work the same way, so here goes:
PRN - obvious
D - normal auto mode. If you flick a paddle you can override the current gear (for example for engine braking, or near me is a steep hill with a sharp bend at the bottom. If I don't override the gear the car stays in 3rd and the turbo kicks in just as I hit the bend, in a 275bhp RWD car that's how to end up across the road in a ditch). It stays in this override mode for a while (couple of minutes of no-paddle use) before reverting to D. It will still change up and down automatically if you go too slow or the revs get too high). You can put it back into fully auto at any time by holding a paddle for more than a couple of seconds.

S - gets you faster shifts than D, and it holds onto the gears a bit longer (right up to the red line, not some slushy auto-mode where it still changes early). It also downshifts earlier to keep the revs in the power band. You have the same options to override the gears with the paddles as in D but it doesn't revert to auto.

In the Jag there is also a full-manual mode, if you're in sport and switch on "dynamic mode" (a separate switch which sharpens the throttle response in all gearbox modes and changes damper settings if you have the optional and unnecessary clever dampers) - you can really feel the difference - makes passengers sick but is much more responsive from light touches of the throttle. If you are in Sport and Dynamic and use the paddles it locks you in manual mode until you hold a paddle. You have full control over upshifts (it will NEVER change up for you). It will not downshift until the revs are too low to hold the gear. This is a lot of fun but in the Jag will rapidly kill you on public roads, but I suspect you don't get quite the acceleration in the Disco!
