The lack of the 2.7 TDi will probably be more of an issue here in Oz, if it is also deleted here n 2011. I do note that a Ford softroader here is supposed to be coming with the 2.7 TDi next year, so who knows? The issue here is to do with the low profile tyres that come with the 19" wheels, and the fact that they are much more prone for slicing sidewalls on sharp rocks/jagged limestone/spiky tree roots, etc. The 19" tyres also don't deflate as flat on soft sand (of which there's about as much soft sand for country driving as there are paved roads here in Western Oz Very Happy ). One of the leading 4WD magazines here didn't grant 4WD of the year status to the D4 solely due to the tyres. Maybe the lower power ones will come with the old V8 brakes, thus allowing 18" wheels. I would have to think that this is also an issue in the Persian Gulf countries with even more soft sand....

I was under impression that all that secrecy was about introducing proper customer service improvements across dealerships to make sure all issues reported are dealt with and fixed in time not left ignored until something really fecks up leaving owners in Censored in the middle of the road Mr. Green Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

The 2.7 is still being built, and is only being stopped for the European market as it isn't Eu5 compliant

I knew changes were afoot! That’s why I am waiting for the new Discovery to start production on 16th August! I am sure more changes will be made. Went to the dealer yesterday, he thought the release information was not due till the 19th! Would not let me read it either….that’s proper service! Will not be purchasing the discovery from him!

I ordered mine on the 1st June and i saw the changes the dealer had on a printout back then. My order sheet confirms mine is in the 2011 MY build phase (001BL is the code if that means anything to anyone).

That tells you a lot about the dealer you saw. However, it is not disimilar to my experience. I ordered from the third dealer I visited.

I agree. I prefer smaller rims and bigger tyre choice. 17"/18" rims are best for the D3/D4 IMHO, and it's shame that the fashion is for bigger rims.

If I replace the D3 it will probably be the Icon/Deafener replacement in its "posh" or "family" trim so that I can have the best of both worlds. Also, the kids are still a bit like livestock and a posh trim is quickly ruined.

Having said that, the RRS TDV8 on 20" rims is a very impressive road car - it's like a roller skate in the corners. I didn't used to like that sort of thing but ... 8) ... although the ride is harsh, even on Luxembourg's billiard table roads.

DingMark, have you seen the thread about 18" rims for the 3.0l D4 that your Aussie colleagues posted? http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic42512.h...B18+%2Brim

I know the guy doing this. That said:
As far as I can tell the custom 18" wheels haven't been commercially tested yet, so there is still a bit of a risk, and
The local magazines test what the vehicle comes with, not what it can be customised to, so the marketing problem for LR may still exist.

New cars here are supposed to meet "Euro 5" emission requirements here so I'd be interested to see if the 2.7 engine is/is not marketed here. I've no idea why Australia uses the tightest available specs. Does it have to do with our high population density requiring it or the lack of wind lets emissions build up? Whistle Whistle

Shame the electric seats don't have memory as it's an £800 option, £400 each for armrests is a bit steep tho you also get an electric steering column adjust Thumbs Up I don't recall altering my steering column in 3 years but maybe some folk do?

Siberian silver is apparently darker and 'blue-ier' than Zermatt so more of a gun metal colour - this sounds nice!
