I notice the dipping mirror has changed design and for some reason the PDC is set to off instead of on as standard ? speakers 'pop' when I get a phone call

Hi randalls.

In what way is the dipping mirror changed?

my PDC is set to on as default.

my one and only issue with the new ride is the speaker "pop" during phone call - or more accurately a VERY Censored LOUD CRAKING

I am with my dealer next week some time and will be discussing this with him. i'd be interested to know how you get on with this issue.

Go easy on him. I'll be there next week myself.
Cheers.

Hi David,

Nah - I'm very much a believer in "don't shoot the messenger" - and Charlie has always given me the best of service and attention - I cant speak highly enough of him.

The speaker "pop" however, is an issue - first time it happened it reminded me of pre-laminated glass days, when a stone would "pop" your windscreen! And it cant be good for the speakers either.

(BTW - want to catch up for a pot & mNth brewery next week?)

Wink

Should be at GR about noon, I hope. Depends on service time. I try to get there as they are opening to be the first in and just wait. Good chance to catch up with paperwork/reading. I'll PM mob#.
Cheers,
David.

Hi Tristan,

'In what way is the dipping mirror changed?'

its just a minor alteration, the sensors used to be underneath the mirror, now the sensor is intergrated in it.

my PDC is set to on as default.
hmmm, I wil have to re-read the manual. Because on my 2006 the front & back sensors came on automatically, but the front ones don't on this version. So its either changed or one of the vehicles is faulty.

Curiously I only get the 'pop' when somebody rings me not the other way around- LOL.

I have also noticed this 2007 version is not as 'saggy' like a Triumph spitfire from the rear, when parked. Thumbs Up

Well it was SWMBO's choice of silver, however the dealer only had a silver one in stock with privacy glass - which he gave me for Shocked FREE Shocked so its made the colour sliightly better to tolerate Smile

Exactly - and doubly worse when accessing voice mail or other recorded services.

Its a reflief to know that this is not just happening to me and appears to be a vehicle fault - it will be much easier to have remedied under warranty!

Tristan, can you update me what happens about the popping. I am going to leave it a few weeks before going to the dealers, to see if anything else crops up thta needs looking at.

Thanks DiscoStu for the link- this is now what is happening with the PDC on my 2007 version.

This is not a fault with the parking system, however, an alternative system strategy is available so that the system operation is canceled when the vehicle speed is above 10mph (16kph) and will not operate again until the vehicle speed is below 10mph (16kph) and the fascia front parking aid switch is selected (or until a forward gear is selected following reverse gear selection during parking).
