Yes, you're right, I have 22" on my D3. Can't say I've ever experienced the problem described. Sounds like a load of bo**ocks to me!2005 Disco 3 TDV6 7 seater. Leather, DVD, fully colour-coded.

Re: Here is my lovely D3 with RR 20"
Thanks for the picture, It is the route I want to go as I was looking at 20in RRS rims but I don't think they work on the LR3 so I am looking at different Factory Range Rover Rims, They Got Theese Sweet 2 Peice Ones...
My Questions is did you have to modify anything to fit them as you are the first I have seen it done ? second is did you notice any change in ride ? better or worse ?

Who said 20" RRS rims don't work on Disco 3/LR3? Didn't you already see this, in the forum with your duplicate thread?
what i meant gromment was i don't thingk the sportiness of the RRS Rims work on the LR3, not that they don't fit...2006 LR3 HSE Tonga Green

I was chatting to a friend yesterday, who drives a 2003 Range Rover Vogue SE. She said that when she asked the dealer to fit bigger wheels, they refused because it would cause vibration!
Seems there may be some truth in the myth after all, but it certainly doesn't affect me with the 22's...2005 Disco 3 TDV6 7 seater. Leather, DVD, fully colour-coded.

I put mine on 19" RRS alloys as 1) cheaper than 20's, 2) I liked the style better, 3) wider choice of tyre (and 255/55x19's are cheaper to replace too)

I work for a CNC Machine Tool manufacturer, and we had a visit today from the guys at LR Gaydon who do all the product development, prototypes, show cars etc. We were doing some test cuts on some very nice 20" wheels for them. They were talking about a really wild prototype vehicle they are working on with wheels of rolling diameter of 800mm, with hand-cut tyres costing 90K. Sounds an interesting beast - lets just say the engine was 2xV6.

RR20" with steps
For those who are interested.......here is my D3 with RR20" plus steps this time round.......
I had these wheels fitted when I bought the car 2nd hand, so I'm not sure whether any mods were made or not; but certainly no vibrations..... although there are more noise when hitting pot holes, nothing intrusive though. Motorway driving showed no problems, even seemed more stable than the test car I driven at LR dealers.......

Hi John
why did you go for 265/45x20 tyres and not 255/50's, which is the correct size for the Disco 3 to keep gearing correct. From my tire size calculator, you are running 686 revs/mile instead of 671, so your speedo is 2.2% fast (ie when you speedo reads 60, your doing 58.7) It will also make you think your MPG is atificially better.
