Very tempting deal, must see if wife will swap her Freelander for one. Then I can can keep my Defender, happy days.

Does anybody have any experiance of the cost (deposit & GFV) on a HSE? I was just interested to see if i could justify the deal in my mind & wallet.

I qualified for this deal under the recent extension and I have to front up 56.5% when the vehicle is delivered. That was on an XS. I'm not sure how they weight the 55-65%. Maybe it's credit rating, maybe it's the total cost of the vehicle and the perceived risk.

The other way of looking at this is from the position that you have the money to pay now, but can usefully put the balance to use elsewhere in the interim - either earning interest or plugged into the stock market. Cashflow optimisation is the way I look at it.

I've gone for a deal with a GFV of just under £21,000 for a stock D4 HSE with 20" wheels, privacy glass and surround cameras; and a trade-in of £25,400 and £4,100 cash.

I am using this deal for my car which I collect on Saturday. Deal is 60% down, Guaranteed Future Value of 40%. car is £51K4.
Balance in 2years or give the car back and walk away or trade in against something new. I kind of hope that the car hasn't lost 60% of its value in 24 months and there is some equity in it to either PartEx or sell the car and settle balance. As an alternative you could re-finance the balance when it comes due.
It was a struggle coming up with the £30K, but I will enjoy not having to make any payments every month!!

2 years is a long time from a financial view point right now. Who knows what could happen with vehicle values, all the guides are saying that a D4 should be worth 55% after 3years making borrowing £20k at 0% over two years look attractive, but it might drop like a stone and everyone who tok the deal be left with pants down. Only time will tell

Had a look at the paperwork, the GFV for me is £20,145 and I'm more than happy with that because that's all I'll have to pay in two years to keep the car, which I'm planning to do.
