What could be wrong - D4 brake issue

Hi, a couple of weeks ago on a wet motorway at about 75 the car started to gently vibrate. I pulled over checked all tyres and finding nothing drove on. It returned about about 5 miles but worse so pulled into services. Clever LR assist who sent out the AA. Couldn't find anything so escorted me uneventfully home, about 20 miles.

Took it to the dealer who noted the near side rear disc had been hot so swapped both rear discs and pads under warranty. After a 50 mile drive the vib came back along with a brake vibration, and also a smell of burning. The n/r disc had two burn marks on the hub at opposing sides. The dealer reckoned the disc was made untrue so fitted a new one. After about 50 miles driving this looked like the pic. It seems that brake is dragging on the disc. Any idea why and why dealer wasn't diagnosed the problem?

I had similar on the d3, sounded like a chinook was trying to land on the roof.

Turned out to be the park brake

You have a sticking caliper why did they not change it in the first place.

The vibration came on just driving on the motorway. I suspect as the disc expanded through getting hot. On one occasion there was a vibration under braking, on others I haven't been braking o wouldn't know.

It puzzles me why they don't seem to have diagnosed further, being that this wheel now needs its fourth new disc.

As an update to this, the new EPB module apears to have fixed the brake binding. No more "burnt" brake discs.

However....at motorway speeds there is a noticeable vibration from that (nearside rear) wheel. Perhpas it isn't there all the time and even this morning it seemed to drop in amplitude following a bit of a "clunk" noise. The car ran lovely prior to this episode.

Ringing the dealer they encouragingly said "we've no idea what it could be because everything has been replaced" - I assume this is a loose definition of everythign as I assume the bearings, dampers etc haven't been replaced at all! I've downloaded a vibration monitoring app to try to record it on my phone to prove it exists.

Has anyone any suggestions?

Heating the hub to that extent several times won't have done the bearing much good, that could be their next job due to their incompetence Rolling Eyes

Well I've found the problem. The disc at the other side (offside) is now burnt!! W the actual F! How can this be happening?!

Should I look to get LR involved now?

Same problem here just after a service, LR replaced disk and blamed it on a return spring on EPB not allowing complete return of shoe causing excess heat and vibration. All parts replaced without any quibbling
