Winter tyres

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knew what the size for winter tyres would be. My current Pirellis are 255/55/17 and I am having dreams about driving to Norway in December Rolling Eyes

Anyone with experience driving a D3 in that kind of snow levels?

Are you sure that's the size of your current tyres? They're 2" too small if you've got that right

Goodyear Ultra Grip 500

I went to northern Sweden in January 07. I can recommend Goodyear Ultra Grip 500 255/60R18 - and you can get them in 255/55R19 also.

I got them without stud, so I can use them in Germany also - and they worked just perfect, even on very icy roads.

Thanks LBS. Nice to have some recommendations for winter tyres. Despite getting some snow and ice every year, winter tyres really don't sell very well in the UK so we tend not to know what to get.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

yes, thank you very much LBS. I'm going to try and look for some used ones as apart from the trip i'm planning, these tyres are going to be pretty useless to me.
