£240 per hour seems wrong. I think it was capped at £140 per hour when I last had WD policy.

Mines capped at £180 per hour, though there is a dealer in London who was at £202 per hour.

My book says £200/hr labour, which I think is ex vat, so 240 inc vat I believe.

I only have it as my Indy is £98 inc Vat, so the lower rate doesn’t cover it. The cost difference between the two rates didn’t seem worth not going for the higher rate

Had a fault yesterday, on a 5.0 RRS, EVAP purge valve

Called WD with details and prices, authorised over the phone. Only £189, but from my POV, they are the easiest company to seal with by far

Compare that to Warranty Wise, logged a claim with them a week past Tuesday, they (allegedly) noted my email down wrong to send a claim form to
So another phone call resolved that, looked up all part numbers and prices, filled in form and sent back on Thursday, still no contact (Though probably not surprising on a subjective £4k claim Laughing )

Ok that seems like oem parts are suitable
I’ve just taken out the core plus with all additional add on’s, £1300, looking at ^^^^^^
your price I’ve overpaid and I’m on capped labour of £72/hour.

It sounds like you’re on the newer system, and you possibly have a higher level of cover. Is yours a D3 as well?

I’ve been with WD for 4 years now. I initially took out a year from about 60k which was I think around 700ish for extra care. When that ended, I did another 3 years of extra care, which was about 600-700 per year I think for the 3 year policy.

My latest renewal wouldn’t allow extra care to continue, so I was put on secure care for the next 2 years, or up to 130k miles.

Secure care is similar to extra care, but mainly no suspension cover or air con. I’ve kept the emissions cover and no betterment included.

Mine is a 2010 D4 with currently about 111k on the clock.

The only issue I have had with these warranties, when using small one or two person independents, is some wont deal with them. Usually it is because the time on the phone to get authorisation can be extensive and it can tie up a ramp for too long a period without being able to work on the vehicle . Having back office staff to do this obviously helps.
