VIN # and DPF
Ok I give up - my D4 TDV6 2015 (VIN SALLAAAN5GA780812) does not have an F or a G in the 8th letter and does not compute when looking at the VIN decode section on this site (and others)
Trying to see if I have a DPF so I can select the correct engine oil - looking under the passenger seat is see this .. but it does not look like the google photo’s of a DPF - there are no pipes into it at all. Googled the PN and I think it’s a catalytic converter.
With all the engine failures I don’t want to take a chance but it looks like I may not have a DPF..?

I think this is what the DPF should look like.

Would a 2015 not be a SDV6? I don’t know the engine options in Australia but it would certainly be a SDV6 in the UK as the TDV6 was phased out in 2011/12.
This is a catalytic converter shown for a UK D4 TDV6 if that helps?

This might help. Character 8 of the VIN identifies the engine. The data below comes from the LR workshop literature and is valid for UK, Europe and ROW markets.
8 - Engine
1 276DT - V6 2.7 Diesel
D 508PN - V8 5.0 NA Petrol
F 306DT - V6 3.0 High power diesel without cDPF
G 306DT - V6 3.0 High power diesel with cDPF
M 306DT - V6 3.0 Low power diesel with cDPF
N 306DT - V6 3.0 Low power diesel without cDPF
V 306PS - V6 3.0 SC Petrol
Looks like you have a low power diesel without cDPF.

In Australia the base spec 3.0ltr twin turbo V6 diesel (155Kw/520Nm) is badged as TDV6. SE & HSE spec are badged SDV6 with a mechanical identical 3.0ltr twin turbo V6 diesel to the TDV6, but with a 183Kw/600Nm ECU tune.MY14 TDV6
