Turbo actuator problem?
The car lost power towing the caravan Saturday, managed to get off the road and ran the diagnostics which showed a boost pressure error.
Cleared all errors and was able to set of and finish the journey with no further drama. It did this before and did the free off and lubricate the actuator rod about 4 months ago and all seemed to be good until now so now need to find a longer lasting fix.
The only thing I find on line apart from the complete turbo is a replacement acuator rod and pin. It seems a simple component and difficult to see how it could go wrong however as it can be obtained separately I presume LR saw it as an issue. Anyone replaced this and was it effective as it is a significant amount of work to get to it?A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an MG5 EV

Would be interesting to have a link to the spare part you refer to.
Access to actuator is impossible.
Access to the rod is possible, but not sure what you will achieve.
By the time you go to the pain/cost to remove the turbo, common sense would say fit a recon one.
I would recommend you try Wynns VVT cleaner (fuel additive in purple bottle). It will clean out the soot from inside the turbo and make the activation free.
Maybe you want to add a bottle into the boot for your towing holidays

The "Actuator Service kit" is LR023086

As you can see there is not a lot to it but it seems odd that LR sell it as a separate part unless they have seen enough issues in the past to warrant it..
I was just trying to find out if it was worth all the work to get to the turbo to change the rod. To find out if it wis effective I would have to get the turbo out , change it then put it all back together to test it.
To then have to repeat the process to replace the turbo as a refurb part when the kit doesn't solve it.... A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an MG5 EV

I do wonder if that is a modified piece (hence why sold) due to the previous falling off or breaking.
In any case, if yours it still present and connected (eg stiff) it’s not going to help your issue

Plus 1 as Also had good success with fuel additive along with lubricating the actuator arm

Yes I am going to try a diesel additive as well as redoing the actuator lube.
I have dug out a can of WD40 PTFE dry lubricant spray which is rated up to 250°C which should be more appropriate temp for its use if I can get into where it needs to go.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an MG5 EV
