Torque Coverter?
Hi
I have had juddering (mainly 2nd/3rd gear) and rev searching for a while. My local garage had a look and put in a new EGR as that was throwing up a fault. I still get the same symptoms but now i'm also getting what feels like bad shaking when doing 50+mph. It feels like it's coming from under the drivers seat. It's going back in to the garage again next week to get checked out again.
Would a bad torque converter cause persistent shaking at higher speeds?
Cheers

TC would certainly explain the juddering in 2nd/3rd but when mine needed doing it was fine once it got moving.
Have you/the garage had a look at the propshaft ? that's also possible... do you have any way of getting the codes read ?
Thinking about it have you checked the arm bushes as they can manifest as a shaking at a particular speed... ?I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Hi
Thx for replies. I use an independent garage over at Cold Norton which was recommended by my neighbour who also has a Disco. The bloke at the garage is really good, explains everything.

Don't know them (but did play against Cold Norton Primary school at football many many years ago - still remember the pitch was on a 45 degree slope ).
Gratech in Heybridge are pretty expensive, there is another guy just the other side of Heybridge but not very reliable.
If you do decide on a Megaflush consider Broadfields in Dunmow, very good and lots of praise on here.I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

😂😂I've played on a few pitches like that...when my knees were in better shape.
I have used Gratech to put a towbar on, much cheaper than the dealers.
Just want to get my car sorted now whatever the issue. I was on the A12 today and turned back to come home as the vibrations were too worrying. Don't want to get stuck on that road with no hard shoulder.

I had a similar thing, turned out to be a sticking front calliper. Bizarrely, not all the time! Replaced with new and has been fine since.
