Screaming EPB Question
Hi I am new to site but not new to the D2 or D3, currently own 2005 D3 SE, have had all usual problems, Intercooler Pipe, Turbo Actuator, Boot Lock, Sat Nav -------- and on, now got screaming EPB, I have read some of the posts on this subject and it appears some people are saying do not replace but clean? Clean what? the brake shoes I assume and then adjust? does this stop the screaming?
I had replaced all discs, pads and shoes last year but done 20'000mls since then, she only screams some of the time.
Disco has now covered 100'600mls and passed MOT including emissions with flying colours, EGR's blanked aswell.
Anyone please advise on this screaming issue before I go order new EPB

Don't let it scream as if it continues the repair will be very expensive.
But yes, a clean and adjust is typically all that is required if it has not screamed too often.

Back in the day quite a few of us had broken shoes and alike and we did wonder about the design and fitness for purpose - whole threads ran on it.
Once we discovered the importance of correct adjustment the problems effectively disappeared for those who adjusted their own EPB or had a good indie. If Land Rover had introduced a mandated adjustment at first service I recon 80% of failures would have never happened.
Ian's Brake Bible made adjustment easy for those who had never tackled anything like it before. Land Rover should give him an award.
