Knocking noise nearside front
Hello All.
Can anyone help with my knocking noise the on nearside front wheel station. it only happens when going over speed bumps and pot holes at low speeds. I think it may be the ball joint, But would like some input from people who have experienced a similar knocking.
My D3 is on a 09 plate and is a HSE if that changes anything, it has also done 60K.

Sounds like your lower wishbones to me. Couple of other potential culprits but I'd start with those "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
Locking rear E-diff
RLD spare wheel protector & sump guard
Extended roof rails
Series 111 mudflaps
Black side tubes,grill and vents
Timed climate remote
Hids4u interior lights
D4 Firenze my2012 HSE
D3 Java 2005 SE manual (sold, sadly, thanks for the memories)
1966 '88 Series 2a....still starts in the morning better than I do...

Thanks for the reply. Is this normal for a 60K D3, ie, should i expect the drivers side to start playing up.

best way to check lower arms for knock is to drive up to 5-10 mph and than suddenly step on brake hard
if it knocks than it might be arm bushes if not I would replace ARBs as it is cheapest part in front suspension although a bit PITA to swap
