Dealer servicing
Should you receive a like for like vehicle when getting serviced at the dealers?
I can't find anywhere to say its there policy but I would expect a Discovery for a Discovery am I wrong to think this?

No guarantee ...just a 'vehicle'. ...though if you have a decent relationship with them then they will usually try to accommodate a like for like request.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

A number of dealers have now opted for a fleet of smaller courtesy cars such as the Fiesta, which is ok if you don't need a discovery or any other 4x4 for the duration. I'm sure most would try to accommodate with a like for like if you needed the discovery for your work etc.

No requirement for it to be like for like. The dealer I use used to run Citroen Xsara Picasso's as loan vehicles. Horrible, but cheap to run for them. They now have Freelanders and if I ask to try something then if possible I will get something different. I don't get charged for mine either but it depends on company policy I guess.

At Team Valley Land Rover (Land Rover Service Centre) they have a fleet of Peugeot/Citroen shopping cars which I am happy with as they are about £200 cheaper than a main dealer for a service and they don't charge you to go on their insurance
If you're happy to pay main dealer prices so you get a like for like car then that's up to you.Cheers Ian

At last years maindealer service I was very disappointed to be given a Ford Focus loan vehicle and despite being brand new it was sh@t.
This year I opted for the "pick up from home service" and the guy arrived in a Smart car which he left on my drive whilst he drove my D3 to the dealers and back.
Having no car at all for a day was better than that Focus. Why the hell does anybody buy those infernal things, it was horrible? Mods:
