Big fat 'F' in my gear selector window - reboot gone away |
|
Ok - so at the weekend, I towed with my D3 for the first time.
I also drove through a stream.
I used Low Ratio for the first time and tried different offroad settings for the first time.
I also reversed into a river to launch a boat.
I'm not sure if any of this is relevant - but whilst driving home on the A38, I was spirited but not over the speed limit through the twisty bits.
Suddenly the light that looks like stability management came on, then a warning saying the parking brake was having a failure, then if I remember some sort of engine management alarm.......then I noticed a big 'F' in the gear selector window.
I left car in gear - but the throttle appeared to do little..........I was heading down hill so managed to get the car off the motorway and into a safe place.
Turned it off.
Had a sandwhich.
Due to the number of electrical faults, and the fact there was no oil anywhere under the car or in the engine bay, I guessed it was just electrical and not major.
With my fingers crossed I restarted the car, it rolled through the system check, all seemed well. So I drove the 200 miles back to my house with it.
So...............anyone seen this before? Was it a wobble? Was it electrical due to some water? Should I be worried?
Car is under warranty
break it to me gently!

If its under warranty then get the garage to read the codes.
Could be something simple like the brake switch or a dodgy brake light bulb.
Let us know what the garage come up with.
