Autobox problem

Hello

This morning I started my 2006 auto disco up and the auto shifter was very stiff. The vehicle hasnt been used for a month except for turning the engine over once a week. I couldnt get the auto into drive (no D in the dash window) but could get it into sport mode and could drive forward. Moving from sport back into normal mode resulted in transmission fault warning and no drive. I have owned the vehicle for 4.5 years and it has been regularly serviced at a LR dealer. The vehicle has done 88000 miles and I have never had this problem before. Do you think it a gearbox problem or a linkage problem. Any suggestions gratefully received

If you haven't taken it apart to grease it, you'll need to sooner or later. I used a wire wheel on a bench grinder to clean the parts and slapped it all back together after applying copper grease. Thumbs Up

And yes, what a great place this web forum is. It and the very knowledgeable people on it have saved me and many like me a fortune. Bow down Bow down
