Dealer replaced it just before I picked it up so can't answer that I'm afraid...receipt says..
1 checked for lack of drive.
2 removed gear box and found clutch and fly wheel completely burnt out...
Sounds like it was a lot worse than yours... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Funny you should mention this, Mark. I noticed a bit of judder yesterday in mine. Not sure if atmospheric conditions would have any effect on the clutch but it's fine today and not noticed it doing it again.
I'm just coming-up to 90k in mine.
Steve: Do LR fit LUK clutches to D3s at the factory?
Is this a body off job or not?

Hi Steve
LUK designed and patented the Dual Mass Flywheel so whilst I have never seen a LR boxed clutch it's a safe bet that is what is in there. (Sachs/ZF has since designed a similar product but long after this one)
Don't know about body off, can't see why you would though. Paul Redding

Clutch isn't a bad job once you've done a few. Did one last week and couldn't get the down pipe bolts off so did the job with the exhaust front pipe on, took about 8 hours due to seized bolts and a broken front prop bolt. The price quoted for luk parts is excellent, genuine flywheels are £369 and they have LUK stamped on the back of them! Know where I will be getting d3 clutch kits in the future

Agreed that Steve's price for the LUK DM Flywheel is very good indeed (especially if that's what LR fit, tomtom86)!
Are there any other parts that us manual drivers should consider replacing whilst the clutch and DM flywheel is being replaced? Am assuming slave cylinder is also worth doing at the same time?
