There have recently been instances of vehicles being stolen using the owners keys - either by pick-pocketing keys or breaking into the home to steal the spare set.
So, suggestions please for a simple way of immobilising the vehicle when the thief has the correct keys. There seem to be lots of faults that cause a D3 to malfunction, so can we use this to advantage? I'm thinking of something like a concealed switch that shorts out (say) the brake light bulb/switch (assuming this would actually imobilise).A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. Brake light issues would not stop the car from being started and driven away.
Best option is a hidden switch cutting power to the LPFP, or break in the CAN-BUS network or similar My D3 Build Thread

you could just add secret switch to brake pedal switch as pedal needs to be pressed to start..
ignition will come on but car will not start.
those are the easiest wires to get to..other options are getting into fuse area...It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Hide your toolkit and AA card; without it they would not get far.
I have a battery disconnect toggle with a 'keep alive' fused wire. Does mean getting under the bonnet though.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Hide the keys better in the 1st place and you won't have to worry.

Sadly there are some pretty horrific stories doing the rounds .....I remember one owner of an Evo woke up to find a freshly boiled kettle hanging over his face.....
I dread to think what lengths they'll go to when retina scans or fingerprint ID is introduced to start your car"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Yes but that doesn't happen to everybody, and I would go ass far as to say that there's more scaremongering than it actually taken place.
I know of some bad things happening after a housebreak. These are all more the exception than the rule.

I have worked insurance for many years and including Motor Insurance/Gap insurance one of the most common claims (by this I mean about one claim every week) that result in a total loss for ‘prestige’ vehicles is where thieves targeting a car, break into a house to steal the keys, or for thieves to use long stick of some kind to ‘fish’ them from the hall table (this is why the police say never leave your keys on the hall table).
Although we suspected many of these type of losses were fraud, where people couldn’t afford the repayments on the car and had them stolen for parts.
My wife used to have a Golf GTI soft top which was stolen several times (indeed in the 3 years we had it various car thieves were driving about in it longer then we had had it, in the end I had a hidden ‘kill’ switch fitted and used to leave the doors unlocked to prevent yet more damage, the kill switch seemed to cure the problem.Club Narpy Torch

I really wish people would stop posting pics of my wife!!!
Trust me, those steering wheel locks are useless, a guy I know can get past those and steal the car quicker than I can with the key.
Our keys always go to bed with us or they're locked in the gun cabinet. Small cabinets or metal lockable boxes can be had for very little. It really amazes me where people leave their keys for very expensive cars. Thrown on the kitchen worktop? It only takes a smashed window and your car is on its way to Lithuania!
As for the threat of violence to get the keys, that is very rare and would happen regardless of what car you had. Most tea leaves are wimps and do not want to get caught or even seen. You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!

We do a new product from cobra that gives you vehicle tracking but we can get the monitor station to remotely immobilise the vehicle
