Battery charging again
When I bought my Disco it had been in the dealers for a week or so and so, after reading this forum, I thought a good charge of the battery would not go amiss. Charging through the trailer socket is a good idea but where to put the charger where it will be out of the rain.
I put the charger and a single socket mains extension lead (5A) in a 'tupperware substitute' box with a hole in the side for the wires. Makes it quite neat and showerproof, shoved under the back of the car for further protection from the elements.
I would attach a photo if I could figure out how to.

B&Q or any electrical retailer sells waterproof boxes with provision for wires in/out in all shapes and sizes to house your charger, unless it huge.On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. Just Found it (I think)..(Yes I have)

Yep, Cteks don't mind the rain or snow at all. Had mine frozen to the ground a couple of times too.
You could put the extension socket in the boot with or without the charger. You can also enter the tow electrics wiring via the left hand cubby fuse box. Cteks have the option of a shortish 12v extension cable too.
You can do pretty much anything you fancy really.

Robbie, are the towing electrics factory fitted or self installed?
I only ask because I was involved in the installation of one the other week, and I installed the socket the other way around - i.e. the flap opened the other way - and the same way as my auxiliary socket on my traditional twin socket layout.Mark.

I had planned to do it myself but when I bust my hand I paid the dealer to do it pre-delivery.
The D4 loaner had the 13-pin fitted the same way but my experience of 13 pin is limited.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
